iPhone 5 And iPad 3 Coming In September, According To Apple’s Suppliers

We have been hearing for a while now that Apple will launch the iPhone 5 at the same time as it launches iOS 5, in the fall, and September seems to be the date that the iPhone 5 is expected to be announced.
We have also heard rumors of an iPad 3 launching later this year, and now according to some of Apple’s component suppliers, the iPad 3 is also expected to launch around September of this year.

The sources pointed out that Apple only plans to launch one model of the new iPhone, while iPad 3 has just recently been added to the production schedule with both set to be produced in small volumes in August and the volume will start picking up in September and October.
The news comes from DigiTimes who have apparently received the information from a number of suppliers who supply parts for the existing iPhone and iPad models.
We are expecting Apple to launch the iPhone 5 in September, although we are not so sure about the iPad 3, as the iPad 2 has only been out for a few months, although you never know.
We suspect if Apple does launch the iPad 3 this year it will feature a higher resolution display than the existing iPad 2, and Apple will probably announce it as the iPad HD, which would allow them to sell it alongside the iPad 2.

By Indo Asian News Service, IANS
Thiruvananthapuram, July 3 (IANS) The erstwhile royal family of Travancore in Kerala is thrilled that valuables worth thousands of crores have been discovered in the chambers of a temple it manages.

A Supreme Court appointed committee is opening six chambers in the Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple and making an inventory of the stock.

The unofficial estimate of the gems and jewellery found in the chambers, two of which have not been openned for nearly 150 years, is Rs.1 lakh crore ($22 billion).

The head of the royal family of Travancore, Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma, was tight lipped on the discovery and said: 'I have nothing to say on this because one has to abide by the ruling of the apex court.'

The task of making the inventory began Monday and five chambers have been opened.

One of the members of the royal family said: 'How many royal families in the country can be proud of keeping things like this? You should understand that two chambers out of the six have not been opened for more than 150 years and it there that the treasure trove has been kept safely.

'Tomorrow (Monday), one of the chamber that has already been opened will be checked again. The chamber B is left. One committee members has gone to Delhi to get the instructions on how to open the chamber B,' the royal family member told IANS.

The stock-taking process was ordered by the Supreme Court following a petition by advocate T.P. Sundararajan over mismanagement of the temple affairs.
Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has called a high-level meeting Sunday evening to discuss the issue of providing fool proof security to the temple in the light of the revelation of the treasure trove.

Apple Attempts To Ban Samsung Devices From The US

Last week we heard that Samsung had filed a complaint against Apple with the ITC, and now Apple has filed another motion with the courts, this one is an attempt to ban imports of certain Samsung devices into the US.
Apple is attempting to ban Samsung from importing the Samsung Infuse 4G, the Samsung Galaxy S 3G,m The Droid Charge and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in its latest motion filing with the court.

Shooting for a preliminary injunction is a bold gamble for Apple. If Apple’s motion is granted, Samsung will be forced within a matter of a few months — possibly less than two months — to take it flagship Android-based products from the U.S. market. Just the possibility of this happening could lead Samsung to settle with Apple early on.
The case between the two companies is heating up, and if Samsung are forced to remove their products from the US it could have a massive effect on the company, although we suspect Samsung and Apple would probably come to some sort of settlement before this would happen.
